Before Installing the Program
Before installing SystemSuite of Fix-It, it is important that you disable or uninstall any other antivirus, antispyware, and firewall programs on your computer.
Antivirus Programs
Before installing SystemSuite or Fix-It, turn off any real-time antivirus program that might be installed on your computer. Typically, you do not need to uninstall the entire program. However, you want to make sure that you are not running two real-time antivirus programs at the same time. Running two antivirus programs can cause your computer to reboot or become unstable. For help with how to disable the real-time antivirus program, please consult the manufacturer’s documentation.
Antispyware Programs
Before installing SystemSuite or Fix-It, turn off any real-time antispyware scanning program that might be installed on your computer. Typically, you can do this by right-clicking the system tray icon for your antispyware program and then selecting the disable option. Many antispyware programs do not have real-time scanning components. If this is the case with your program, you do not need to take any action. If you are not sure if your antispyware program has real time scanning, please consult the product’s documentation or website.
Firewall Programs
Before installing SystemSuite, uninstall any other firewall you might have installed on your computer. To uninstall the firewall program, go to Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel. Then, select the program's name and click the Remove button. Follow the directions to uninstall the program.
If you are using the Windows Firewall, you do not need to take any action. SystemSuite disables the Windows Firewall where appropriate.
