Icons in Windows are determined by the program associated with the file. If you have generic icons after uninstalling PowerDesk, it is due to the fact that those file types were associated with PowerDesk. With PowerDesk uninstalled, you will need to use the Windows "Open with" command in the right- click context menu to reassociate that file type to another program. This will restore the icon.
